I have Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 wireless adapter in my laptop and I tried to install the WiFi Link drivers on my Windows 8.1. It suddenly stops and states that "Error [00000525]: An error occured while attempting to create the directory: C:\ProgramData\Intel\Wireless". I have given myself and the installer admin privileges but it does not help. I have tried to delete Wireless directory but it does not help. Is there a workaround?
The Intel 6230 has the same "sporadic dropping problem" in Windows 8 environments as you have documented for those adapters identified at this URL: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-034535.htm -0 yet the 6230 is **NOT** listed there. I **have** tried installing the same SW you recommended for resolving dropping of those adapters you did list, but it does **Not** seem to resolve the sporadic dropping of the 6230 adapter on my Windows 8.1 laptop. Please Help.
I bought a Sony Vaio Tab 11 (Windows 8.1 pro) with Intel wi-fi dual band n7260. It's impossibile to connect with eduroam network of my University. But this standard is one of the popular in the world. Why? The version of drivers is 10.06.0.08, updated by Sony in november 2013.
So my Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI motherboard came with the Intel AC 7260 wifi card.
Everything works fine and connection is stable and does not drop.
However, once in a while (maybe once 1-2 weeks). The card's 5GHz band will crash and the card can only receive 2.4GHz APs.
I can fix it by disabling and re-enabling the card or restarting the computer. then it will be fine again.
My wifi router is a Cisco EA3200, I have a laptop with the Intel 6300 card and this does not happen so I'm guessing something is up with the 7260 adapter?
Also after updating to the latest drivers, my wifi signal seems to be way lower for some reason. (16.6 was all 5 bars 16.10 is 1-2bars at most)
Hello, I have a Intel Dual Band AC 7260 + 4.0 Bluetooth wifi card and I have the data logging issue where it randomly losses the internet connection but its still connected to the SSID. What can I do to solve this issue because I've had to restart multiple applications every time this happens and its really annoying.
The WLAN card is installed in a HP Pavilion dv6t-6000. The previous wifi card - intel wireless n-1000 - did the same thing.
Hi there,
Sorry for my English, it's not my native language. I'm using a Dell XPS 13 notebook with an Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 builded in. I've reinstalled my notebook last week. I'm running:
Today I was trying so set up a VPN connection with my university. However, it didn't work, Windows showed me error 619:
A connection to the remote computer could not be established so the port for this connection was closed"
I've tried to setup the VPN connection as well by using a wired connection (Using an USB to ethernet adapter) and a wireless connection (Using TP-Link TL-WN821N wireless USB adapter). EDIT: These solutions worked, but using the Microsoft wireless drivers instead of the Intel drivers didn't work, it gave me error 619 again. So I think there's a problem with the Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 wireless adapter or the Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software drivers 16.7.0 and VPN connections.
Does anybody have a solution for setting up a VPN connection with the Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6235 wireless adapter?
Thanks in advance,
Chris

On the AC 3160 I seem to be capped at 150 mbps.
On my other laptop with a Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 i can reach speeds up to 300mbps
with my current router settings.

I got a NUC and bought a 6300 wireless card along with it. When I got it I realized the NUC only has 2 antennas. Is that going to be an issue? Would I have been better off with a 2 antenna card like the 6200 series? My wireless connectivity isn't overly good compared to my previous system, but it was a desktop with a 3 antenna PCIe card. I left the "3" connection empty.
Hi everyone,
I was messing with my wireless adapter (Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless-N 2230) to try to connect to 802.11ac bands but to no avail. There was this option that I stated in the title that I accessed, but was unable to find again after changing the option. It is a Intel blue-bordered menu.
Does anyone have any idea how to access this option again? I couldn't connect to 2.4ghz frequencies now.
Help much appreciated, thank you!
Let me state the problem. My ISP provides a 60mbps connection to my place. The router is set to abgn mode (to support older devices to) and runs on 2.4GHz.
I've got few devices that are connected to that network and some of them do support at least 802.11n standard. Below are speedtest results for them:
There's no way I could get anywhere near the speeds of my Mac on my PC if it comes to the connection. It's always around 20mbps. I did try with different USB WiFi cards (both from TPLink in 802.11n standard) but it was the same.
Any ideas?
I am creating system recovery disk for Nortons Ghost and it requires the network drivers for my laptop. I am using Windows 7 (64 bit), but Ghost can only work with 32 bit drivers on the recovery disk. I need to download the 32 bit wireless drivers for my Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205, and for my Intel 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection. When I download them from the Intel site, they are in an exe file. Norton Ghost is looking for an INF file. How can I get the 32 bit drivers for both those interfaces extracted, so I can point Norton to that directory to load the drivers on the recovery disk it's building?

Steve
Hello everyone,
I've had this Getac B300 for some years now, but it's long since seized to act as my daily driver (that role is now onto my Dell Latitude E6420.)
Laptop specs: Getac B300; Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Service Pack 1 + the latest updates; Intel Centrino processor; 4Gb RAM; Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN.
Normally, I connect to the internet through a Huawei 4G WiFi modem-router, or either of two Android phones with unlimited data plans, via their WiFi hotspot functions. Until recently, I had been using two Sony Xperia U's, and two Sony Ericsson Xperia Rays before that. A few weeks ago, I bought two new Xperia V phones - not exactly state-of-the-art, but they're all the phone I need for a very good price, with 4G connectivity!
Problem is, while the other machines play with the new phones with nary a hitch as usual, the Getac just won't play. Within a minute of connecting to the WiFi hotspot of either of the Xperia V's, I get this:
And after it restarts, this is the report I get:
I got the same issue in safe mode as well. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the wireless driver on the Getac, but it didn't change anything. So far, the only other solution I can think of is doing a factory reset on the phones, and you know I don't wanna do that unless I absolutely have to.
I attached a debug zip file, if that can help identify the problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi there.
I have the "ASUS RT-AC66U" router.
Now i bought the "Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260" for my MSi GE60 notebook with Win7x64 home premium. The old WiFi card was "AzureWave AW-NB114/H"
I replaced the old WiFi card with the new and installed the latest driver(16.10.0.5), downloaded form the Intel website.
In the control center of Windows i can't choose the AC networktype. Only b/g/n. (see attached screenshots)
When i connect to the 5GHz network it works only with the "a" type. 5Mbit/sec. (see screenshot)
(sorry, the pictures are in german, but i think you will see my problem)
Do i have to activate/change somethink?
Thank you.
I recently upgraded my Windows 7 x64 bit Dell laptop with a Dual Band Wireless AC + Bluetooth 4.0 adapter. Network drivers are from the Intel PROSet v.16.10.0 and the Bluetooth drivers are 10/18/2013 v 3.1.1311.400. The wireless is working well (cannot connect AC to my ASUS RT-AC66R router yet, but currently monitoring a discussion here for that problem) and the Bluetooth seems to be working well, connects good and stays connected. For headphones, I use a set of LG HBS 730 stereo headphones and problem is that the Bluetooth adapter assigns it as a Bluetooth Headset (understandable, as it does have a built-in microphone as well), but it locks (grays out) the sound quality to the "1 channel, 16 bit, 16000 Hz (Tape Recorder Quality)" setting (see attached screenshot). This setting is not changeable, so I have to assume that this is set via the driver software. I have removed the device and added back a few times, and each time is defaults to the headset settings with the limited sample rate/bit depth. How do I either get the sample rate/bit depth to change to a DVD (or at least a CD) quality setting, or get the Bluetooth adapter to see the device as a Bluetooth headphone, instead of a Bluetooth Headset? Bottom line: need better sound quality for a set of stereo headphones/headset.
Hi bought a laptop Dell insprino 7537 models.
rise in online games, but I'm having instant ping
Ping values, 40 - 90 of 300 -900 while she is getting.
In the following video you can better understand.
This problem exists in everyone who uses the Dell 7537 high ping problem exists only in online games
I just installed this adapter into the mini-PCIe slot on my desktop.
Windows 8
Intel 7260HMW - Driver Version 16.10.0.5
Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-Q87N
My problem is that the WiFi will not stay on. The longest I have been able to get it to stay connected is about 10 minutes. Normally it will connect only for 1 or 2 seconds. Then, in the Windows 8 WiFi pane on the right side of the screen, all the networks will disappear and it will say WiFi (Off)
I verified this is the newest driver available from Intel.
The same issue occurs in Safe Mode with Networking.
The same issue occurs regardless of whether or not I allow Windows to turn off the device to save power.
If I go to "Change PC Settings" I do not even have a "Wireless" section to see this supposed "Airplane Mode" that comes up in my Google searches.
The adapter appears just fine in Device Manager, and even when the WiFi pane says "WiFi (Off)" if I check in the network adapter screen (ncpa.cpl) it will show the adapter as enabled and "Not Connected"
I have a Cisco USB wireless adapter that works perfectly fine on this same computer.
The fact that it appears in Device Manager makes me hesitate to suspect any kind of hardware issue. But I have no other computers with the mini-PCIe interface available so I cannot test in another computer.
Anyone got any ideas?
