Since update to windows 8.1 in november 2013 it had problems with random disconnects, when only rebooting router would fix it. Since last saturday (5 april) it broke completly. It refuses to connect to wifi, sometimes rebooting itself during it. If it somehow connects, i have no acces to inernet, except for single pings that sometimes pass. WNN is enabled on both router and adapter, channel width set to 40 mhz, intel proset 16.11 and 17.00 dont fix anything. Attached log on one of tries of connecting to internet.

Intel 5300 - How to set the values for RTSThreshold and Rifstest in Registry in Windows7?
Hi All,
I want to setup the following registry settings for an Intel Wireless Card (Intel WiFi Link 5300 - external card)
* RTS Threshold
* Rifs Test
I am not sure on the Registry data types and key values for it. Could you help me with correct one? I need to set those values using Perl - if I come to know the proper registry values for above, I can code it.
Awaiting for your valuable reply.

AC 7260 on NUC 54250 (Device Descriptor Request Failed) - 3.1.1311
Hi,
I have an AC 7260 Mini PCI-E module in my NUC. It was working fine until today (for about 6 months).
Today I started a driver update session, and after updating the BT driver to the latest 3.1.1311, I get a Device Descriptor Request Failed error.
The Wifi still works fine.
I noticed some resolved issue with a bad batch of cards, but it can't be that since my module worked fine for several months.
Any idea what could be the issue? Or is it just dead?
P.S.
I tried an older driver, didnt help.
Thanks,
Intel 7260ac wireless card 'off'
Hi,
I have an acer aspire 6920g laptop.
A few weeks ago decided to update to win 8.1
Since the updated I randomly received a system error message 'Your system noticed a problem and will restart :driver irql not less or equal (netwlv64.sys)'
I searched on the net and find out that my wireless card is probably not supported on win 8.1 (intel 4965AGN), so I bought an intel 7260ac.
When I installed it in and tthe windows was alive I wasn't able to tun on the card. what I mean that the option was greyed out in the network selection side menu(so no chance to switch it)and the test said that my wireless card is off. I have a physical button to turn on/off wireless conections. I tried to reinstall the windows but same result.
I'm out of ideas... if anyone can help me it would be more than welcomed.
Thanks
Correlation between driver versions in Device Manager and Intel versions ?
Hi everybody,
The driver version that Device Manager informs is different from the version that Intel releases.
Without fully understanding why this happens, it would be really useful if at least we could have a correlation table between both of them ?
Am I missing something ? because it should be really easy and I cannot find it anywhere.
Currently, Device Manager shows for my N-6235 version 15.10.5.1 with driver date 31-Oct-13, while I have just installed Intel version 16.11.0, dated 21-Mar-14. When I saw the difference I thought that there had been some problem with the installation and re-installed, but then the installation software informed that the product was already installed and offered only to repair or uninstall.
So, I am concluding that while Intel version 16.11.0 is correctly installed, device mamager indicates 15.10.5.1
Can anyone explain this and if this is unavoidable, just produce a correlation table ?
Thanks.
Wireless Centrino N 1030 connectivity troubles and software update troubles
Dear support community,
I think I face likewise problems as many other members of the Intel Support Community. Let me explain my annoying troubles in detail. I was running Windows 8.1 on my Medion Erazer X6816 notebook (bought summer 2012) with troubles, my wireless connection kept on dropping in and out, however, when I had connection I had a very good speed. This became tremendously annoying and along with some other minor issues of Windows 8.1 I decided to go back to the roots of my notebook and made a clean install of Windows 7.
I installed all drivers that came along with the notebook (including the Intel Wireless Centrino N1030), running software version 14.something. After that I faced difficulties in download speed (dropped from wireless 20mbps to a slow 1mbps when doing different speed tests). Especially when I was downloading with news groups, internet became slow of all wireless devices (TV, tablet, notebook of my girlfriend).
Now I directly decided to go to the Intel download section to install the latest Windows 7 64 bit drivers and when I rand the automatic driver detection I received a message that I was not running the latest drivers and that I could upgrade to 16.11 (or something). I downloaded that driver pack. When I ran that software, it told me it was installing the newest drivers which of course made me feel confident of restoring my dl and upload speed . When I restarted my computer I clicked on the Start button and pressed a program of Intel called Intel>Wireless>Manual wireless check (or something similar), it lets you run a variety of tests (including how many Wifi networks are available and including the firmware of your driver). It states that I am running 15.something. Problem is that I still face low DL speeds and very low up speeds (and I bought expensive internet). All the rest of the wireless devices in my house run a very high internet speed except mine. I tried installing the newest driver and delete the oldest even the 17.0.0 but all I get is this:
The green dots are moving but then it disappears.. Running another check and still sticks to the 15.somethingfirmware with low down and upload speeds.. It is driving me crazy and I have no clue what to do. I can't seem to install the latest drivers.. I reinstalled several times but I cannot seem to increase my up and dl speeds.
Any advice would so very much welcomed. I really appreciate it..
All the best,
Jan
After N6235 driver 16.11 installation, Device Manager indicates 16.6 installed
I have updated my N6235 with the latest driver available for win 8.1/64bits, which is 16.11.0
After update, Device Manager indicates 15.10.4.2 version installed, which according to the equivalence is a 16.6 Intel driver
If I run aganin the 16.11 installation package it shows that the driver is installed and only offers repair or uninstall
What is happening ? Is this a normal behaviour or should I look somewhere for a problem ?
Thanks
Latest driver for Intel Ultimate-N 6300 sporatic losses
Upgraded the latest driver (v 15.10.5.1) and pro-set software (16.10.0.0). Am now having more limited connectivity issues from the wireless card that I have to use my wired connection to access the internet. I have tried every trick that has been suggested on other forums and everything but nothing seems to be helping this situation. Looking for support as this has been going on for a while and not getting better but worse.
Windows 8.1 AC 7620 Adapter switching
tchingI'm attempting to enable Adapter Switching (using the PROset administrator tool) on a Lenovo T440 running Windows 8.1
When I enable the setting an information prompt appears that says "This setting is used for Windows 7 only"
How do I enable Adapter Switching for Windows 8.1?
We have limited address space and can't afford to have laptops taking 2 IP addresses.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

7260AС + Intel NUC D54250WYK
Hi there.
I have a trouble with NUC D54250WYK and Intel 7260 (HWM mark on module) AC + Bluetooth.
NUC has latest drivers and BIOS from Intel Donwload Center.
Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 have same issues with that card.
Installing latest driver for 7260AC - 17.0.0 and nothing.
Bluetooth module - working.
But the Wireless cant start with error. (code 10).
In system logs NETwNs64 have errors with Event ID 5001 and 5006.
"The version number is incorrect for this driver"
"Could not allocate the resources necessary for operation"
Hardware ID for that card - PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_08B2&SUBSYS_42708086&REV_83
But in Ubuntu Linux 14.10 LTS - Wirelesls and bluetooth working normally!
AC7260 disconnects
The problem I'm having is that at random intervals, my laptop stops passing traffic over the wireless interface. Windows still shows me associated to the access point, but no traffic makes it across the link. Eventually Windows will show "limited connectivity" on the interface. I have to disconnect and reconnect to the SSID in order to get things working again. This is the case on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs.
I just installed an AC7260 card in my laptop, running Windows 8.1 64bit. I'm now on version 17.0.0.34 of the wireless driver. I have a 4th-generation Airport Extreme AP, running 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSIDs. 2.4gig is running in b/g/n mode, and on 5gig I've tried a/n and n only modes, with both 20MHz and 40MHz wide channels. I've verified there are no other APs I can hear on the same channels I'm on. I have my wireless security set to WPA2-PSK. I've also tried setting the Airport's multicast rate to both low and medium.
As far as device settings go for the card, I have:
802.11n channel width for 2.4GHz: auto
802.11n channel width for 5.2GHz: auto
ARP offload: enabled
Bluetooth AMP: enabled
Fat channel intolerant: disabled
GTK rekeying: enabled
HT mode: VHT mode
Mixed mode protection: CTS-to-self enabled
NS offload: enabled
Packet coalescing: enabled
Preferred band: No preference
Roaming aggressiveness: medium
Sleep on WoWLAN disconnect: Disabled
Transmit power: highest
Wireless mode: 802.11a/b/g
How to remove Intel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 Hardware lock ?
I'd like to find out how to remove the hardware lock on this card so I don't have to run commands like rfkill in linux.
I'd like the hardware lock to be removed permanently
Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro
Linux: any version
Please advise.

Intel 7260 AC Wifi adapter not recognized / disabled in Sony Vaio laptop
I own a Sony Vaio laptop, here are the basic specs:
Sony VAIO SVE141290X
OS : Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional with Media Center (x64) Build 9600
Motherboard : Sony Vaio Intel HM76 (Panther Point)
CPU : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3632QM CPU @ 2.20GHz
RAM : 16GB RAM (2 x 8GB G.Skill Ripjaws PC3 12800)
HDD : 750GB Western Digital Hard Drive
The laptop originally came with Windows 8, and the stock Qualcomm Atheros Wireless N card. I did a clean install of Windows 8 Pro, and then recently upgraded to Windows 8.1. I have the Vaio Control Center, Vaio care, and the necessary drivers only. The wireless was working so far, needed faster card. So I decided to upgrade to the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260.
After installing the new Intel card in the laptop, I downloaded and installed the Intel Wifi and bluetooth software and drivers directly from the Intel website :
Intel Wifi drivers ( Download Center)
Intel Bluetooth drivers ( Download Center)
However, the 7260 AC wifi card is not recognized at all. The airplane mode can turn wifi off, but with airplane mode off, the Wifi adapter still shows up as disabled / grayed out. The Intel ProSet wireless utility also complains that the Wifi hardware switch is turned off, and needs to be turned back on first. (My laptop model does NOT have an external switch or key combination for Wifi enable/disable)
Did some research on google, and noticed people having success by taping pin # 20 and pin # 51 of the card. Unfortunately I could not find the pin layout diagram or a youtube video, nor do I have any experience doing this. Can someone guide me through this process? A picture or video could be useful, but I couldn't find any :-(
Can someone help?
Thanks in advance...

Wireless-AC 7260 Ad Hoc Problem
I have a Lenovo ThinkPad W540 with Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 Plus Bluetooth
and the problem is I can't connect to a third party device which broadcasts ad hoc wifi network.
This ad hoc network does not share Internet connection, it is purely to connect with this device via the dedicated application.
I tested connection with other ad hoc networks and looks like Wireless-AC 7260 can only connect to ad hoc wifi networks which share Internet connection. If they do not share Internet connection then Wireless-AC 7260 does not set up IP properly via DHCP.
I tried different drivers and different operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 8). Nothing helps...
