AC7260 bluetooth code 43 possible cause?

$

I noticed the following on my Samsung 730U3E laptop:

When the bluetooth driver is still trying to load, under USB Controllers -> Generic USB hub (there is 2 on my laptop) -> Power, it will show the bluetooth device.

Under that, it shows my usb hub have 500mA available.

For the AC 7260 bluetooth, it will show it uses 100mA. I've also a realtek usb card reader on the same usb hub that uses 500mA.

I suspect this could be the cause that prevent the bluetooth to load with a code 43.

When I switch back to my original intel 6325, the bluetooth will show it uses 0mA.

I'm running Window 8.1 64 bit with the latest Intel drivers.

I'm not sure if this is the cause. It is possible to make the bluetooth on AC7260 show it uses 0mA?

New PROSet software/driver for 7260 AC disabled/crippled wide channel in 2.4Ghz Wireless N

Joe_Intel or anyone from Intel  PLEASE READ THIS

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I purchased and installed a new  7260 AC card for my HP notebook 3277NR. I have my router and adapter settings to run at 2.4Ghz with wide channel (40Mhz)

I AM NOT ABLE TO GET 300Mbps with the 7260 using the lastest driver (PROSet 17.0.0_64.exe in Windows 7, Driver dated 2/18/2014).

The maximum speed I got for 7260 card latest drivers was 144Mbps, because the latest drivers/software CRIPPLED the wide channel (even though adapter settings is set to "auto" in 2.4ghz channel).

I had to uninstall latest drivers and install the PREVIOUSLY RELEASED VERSION (PROSet 16.10.0_s64.exe for windows 7, Driver dated 1/28/2014). Now I get 300Mbps before I couldn't. INTEL Please DO NOT DISABLE the wide channel mode (2.5Ghz band) in your future drivers because there is no point of using a 2x2 Intel card if you cant get full speed in wide channel.

Missing +HS(High Speed) functionality in 7260 AC

HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

I am having an issue with the Bluetooth in my 7260 AC. After Installing latest driver BT_17.0.1401.03_s64 for windows 7 64bit, I don't

see the "+HS" suffix in under Bluetooth Radio. All it says is "Intel Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 Adapter" The HS(highspeed Bluetooth) is disabled.

How can I enable this? I read the instruction of intel "How to install Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth® technology"

and it says:

"Three components are required for Bluetooth® HS features and function with Intel wireless adapters.

  • WiFi (Intel)
  • Bluetooth® HS (Intel)
  • Bluetooth® Stack (Intel or third-party)"

The link for this info is at Intel® Wi-Fi Products — How to install Intel® PROSet/Wireless Software for Bluetooth® technology

In device manager I have under

Bluetooth Radios

Intel Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 Adapter                          <-- no +HS suffix here!

   Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator

Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator   <--missing this device also!

Network Adapters

  Bluetooth Device (Personal Area Network)

  Bluetooth Device (RFCOMM Protocol TDI)

I also removed all Proset software and proceded to install Bluetooth software first as mentioned in above link.

Tried removing all radios/Bluetooth devices in device manager but "+HS" suffix does not come back on!!!!!!!

P.S. I checked my other Windows 8.1 laptop and the "+HS" suffix is there. So I know my Windows 7 laptop should show it too

Update: Is it possible HS(High Speed) functions even though it doesn't show in device manager?

7260 with firmware version iwlwifi-7260-8.ucode locks kernel

$

I have built the 3.14.2 linux kernel and am trying to use the 7260 card with the 7260-8 version of firmware downloaded.  I see in the kernel log that the firmware loads and the card is recognized, but the kernel locks up subsequently.   If I back down to version 7260-7 of the firmware, the system boots and operates successfully.

I have determined that the step that locks the kernel is as follows:

ifconfig wlan0 down

iwconfig wlan0 mode monitor

iwconfig wlan0 up

iwconfig wlan0 freq 2462M

It is the last step of setting the frequency that locks the kernel requiring a system reboot.

The reason I am trying to move to this version of firmware in the card is as many people are reporting, the card locks up.  We run the card in monitor mode, and intermittently the card will show that it is receiving packets, but not of the packets which are routed to our driver make it there, unless we reset the wifi card (with ifconfig wlan0 down; ifconfig wlan0 up).

Supposedly, the 7260-8.ucode firmware is the recommended firmware for 3.13+ kernels.

Anyone have ideas about either problem?

1) Why does the card quit recognizing packets that are sent to it

2) Why is the 7260-8 firmware incompatible with the 3.14.2 kernel drivers?

7260 still drops connection with newest driver

I have had an XPS 15 Touch (XPS 15-9530) with the Dual Wireless-N 7260 card running Windows 8.1 Update and have had no end of problems with wireless connectivity.  I am on driver 17.0.0 and set Power Options to Maximum Performance for my wireless card.  I had these same problems back when I was on Windows 8.1 with the 16.10 driver (I think that was the version) when I first got the laptop and the driver update didn't sort it out.  The main symptom I see is that when I'm on my home wireless network, suddenly my wireless connection goes to Limited and I need to toggle Airplane Mode on and off quickly to reconnect and regain internet access.  A secondary symptom is that I have no end of problems joining wireless networks at restaurants and coffee shops and also joining my iPhone's tethered network (I eventually just gave up and tethered via Bluetooth).

My home network is an Airport Extreme dual-band network, extended by my basement's Airport Express.  Automatic channel selection is enabled but it always seems to stay on the same channels: for 5.0GHz both the Extreme and the Express are running on channel "149+153" and for 2.4GHz the Extreme is on channel 1 and the Express is on channel 11.

Is there something I can do to help troubleshoot this?  I will try to attach the logging from a recent drop.  I noticed the connection drop at 9:40am, although it may have dropped up to a minute before.  I then toggled Airplane mode at 9:42am and regained my connection at 9:43am.

Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200 "device not plugged in"

Hello,

Yesterday my laptop (lenovo z580) dropped wi-fi connection. My computer stopped recognising the wireless device. I tried updating my Intel PROSet to the newest version, hoping it would install the newest driver, but nothing changed.

In the device manager, in the tab with network cards, the Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2200 is shown as a "hidden" device and in properties it shows up as "device not connected to the computer (code 45). I didn't open the case, so I couldn't disconnect anything.

I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro. The driver that shows up in the device's properties is 15.10.0.15. I tried updating the driver also via the drivers tab in properties but nothing happened. I also tried restoring system to the restoration point made about a week ago, when the device worked okay, but it also didn't help anything.

What else can I do to try and fix the problem? Is it software or hardware issue?

Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 issue with "No networks found" after displaying home network for 1-2 seconds only

After installing Windows 8.1 on my Intel NUC computer, I tried to setup the wireless connection. Initially there were "No networks found." After a few restarts of both the computer and the network card, I was briefly able to see networks in range (I live in NYC and there are at least 20 wifi access points in range). A few seconds later, it reverted to "No networks found" again. Drivers are up-to-date and no amount of restarting the network adapter seems to help. Could the card be defective?  One thing to note is that I originally tried installing Linux (OpenELEC) on this computer. I had the same problem with the network disappearing with that OS as well.

My system specs are as follows:

  • Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260
    • Currently w/ driver version 17.0.2.5 (4/16/2014) from the Intel PROSet/Wireless Software for Windows 8.1
    • Originally had driver version 16.5.3.6 with the same exact issue
  • Mini PC - Intel® NUC Kit D54250WYK
    • Windows 8.1 (x64)
    • 4 GB RAM
    • Crucial M500 240GB mSATA Internal SSD

Intel Centrino Wireless N-2200 Causes massive slowown of my pc after 22 minutes of run time

$

I began having trouble with my pc about 6 days ago and I have been trouble shooting everything I could think of ever since. I have checked for viruses, using Windows Defender and Norton. I am clean. I have updated all my drivers. I have updated from windows 8 to windows 8.1. I use ms config to eliminate the non-essential background operations, one by one, and the problem persists. I disconnect from the internet and the problem stops.

So I contacted my ISP they updated my router software and still the problem persist. Now I am attempting to Downgrade the drivers for the wireless connection to see if its the driver or something else related to the internet connection but even when I Disable the device and uninstall the drivers the driver installer insists that there is a newer version of the driver already installed. This message is prompted after I Uninstall the driver.

To recap, my computer lags after 21 minutes and 40 seconds to 22 minutes and 20 seconds of run time, no matter what i do. If i turn the my internet connection off the lag stops and i can resume using my pc as normal (without internet).

if anyone knows what this is I would appreciate your input.

If anyone knows how to revert back to previous drivers I would appreciate that as well.

Or if anyone has other troubleshooting ideas to put forward I'm all ears.

Thank you.

AC-3160 returns the wrong LMP extended features

Hi All,

I'm using Intel dual band AC3160 bluetooth module on my Android development board.

When I sent HCI_Write_LE_Host_Support command and enabled LE_Supported_Host, then sent HCI_Read_Local_Extended_Features command I got the result - "LE Supported host disabled".

According to bluetooth Core_V4.0 volume 2, Part E,7.3.79, says "LE_Supported_Host is set to enabled the bit in LMP features mask indicating support for LE Support (Host) shall be set.", it should work but turns out not.

Greatful for any suggestions.

Wireless AC7260 - Still not working with 17.0.2.5

I have a DELL XPS 15 Touch 9530 with the Intel Dual Band Wireless AC-7260, and the Wifi has no end of problems. With the default 16.0 driver it keeps disconnecting from the network, showing limited connection etc. Since then we have tried replacing the Wifi card, but it did not help. Upgrading to the latest 17.0.2.5 driver stops the Wifi from disconnecting, but the connection is so bad none of the web pages will load up.

We are using two access points (D-Link DAP-1665 and TP-Link WA9091ND). It works better with the 5Ghz Wifi from the D-Link access point, ping results as below:

Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 unable to detect APs

Hello everyone,

I have a lenovo W530 notebook with windows 8.1 (windows 8 upgraded automatically to 8.1) and it uses a Centrino Advanced-N 6205 wifi card that is unable to even detect APs.

I tried all the drivers I was able to find (including older ones like 2012) without success. If I tried to install it manually using drivers from intel's site I got the following error during the installation:

Invalid access to memory location. And the operation fails.

If I let windows to automatically find drivers and install them I get the code 10 error: The device cannot start.

I managed to update and make the adapter work as I see it in the network adapters in windows, but if I right click on the wifi adapter and select connect the Networks area pops out from windows and I can see only the wired connection there. The status in device manager for the adapter is ok, no issues reported by windows.

I searched all over for a patch or any idea on how to solve this issue but nothing useful was found.

Also, I need to mention that it worked fine till around 3 months ago when this happened. I cannot recall if this was produced by a windows upated or something similar, as this notebook is my 2nd notebook that I use for VMs and other heavy duty stuff.

Big thanks!

Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 not connecting after resuming from sleep

After updating wireless drivers to 17.0.2.5 I can no longer connect to wireless networks after resuming from sleep in Windows 8.1 64-bit. Disabling and enabling the device allows me to connect again but I didn't have to do this before the driver update. Also I am still experiencing micro dropouts at less than two meters away from my Wifi-N router, this does not happen with my other laptop with Broadcom BCM 4321 which also uses Wifi-N.

Centrino N 2200 (Lenovo X230) connection dropping after sleep mode

$

Hi, all. I have had an enormously frustrating experience with the Centrino N 2200. I have a Lenovo X230 and am running Windows 7 Pro.

The problem:

My WiFi connection drops when the computer returns from sleep mode and my general WiFi range is horrible. Any time the computer returns from sleep, I have to manually re-connect using Fn + F5. This is very time-consuming and frustrating. Moreover, the WiFi range is terrible. My desk is no more than 30 feet from the router and the wireless connection often drops. We have a Motorola Arris DG860 modem and router.

What I've done:

I've updated all drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled Lenovo's Access Connections, and changed my power settings to max (among many other potential software fixes). Nothing seems to help. Also "Allow the computer to turn off device ..." is NOT checked. "Allow this device to wake the computer" is grayed-out and not an option. Also, per other posts, 802.11n mode is disabled, Roaming Aggressiveness is set to lowest, Transmit Power is 5. highest, and wireless mode is 3. 802.11b/g. My laptop also has two Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapters. I have tried multiple times to uninstall these (per suggestions in another thread) and they keep coming back.

At any rate, I am at my wit's end with this network card (and laptop, in general) but I am hesitant to do any replacement work myself.

If anyone can help I'd be really grateful.

Thanks!

Parker

Last Ditch Effort to Make 7260AC Work in my Win 8.1 64-bit Laptop

$

I upgraded my 7260-N to a 7260AC and while the wifi rocks with my Netgear Nighthawk router, I have completely lost Bluetooth.  My laptop and Samsung Galaxy S4 phone will pair, but then after about a minute, will disconnect and never reconnect.  The same goes for my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet - pairs and then disconnects.

I contacted Intel Customer Support and was advised to uninstall my wifi and Bluetooth software and drivers, and then reinstall wit the most recent ProSet software and drivers for my Windows 8.1 64-bit system.  I did that and it did not work, so I took the 7260AC out and reinstalled my 7260N card, and now the Bluetooth doesn't work on it anymore either!!!

My computer is only 3.5 months old and now HP wants to replace it...but new models of my same configuration are now being sold with only 1x1 b/g/n wlan cards, which is unacceptable.  I really don't want to start over with a new computer, so was thinking about trying this:

1.  Uninstall all wifi and BT software and drivers and then uninstall the WLAN card.

2.  Perform a System "Refresh" which is supposed to refresh my Windows installation without removing my files or too many of my programs.

3.  Reinstall the 7260AC card and see if Windows will automatically reinstall the correct drivers.

Any thoughts as to my logic or should I just cave and get the new computer?

I installed the latest driver 17.0.2 version on windows 7 after it's running a few minutes to occur connection issue for the limited access with 2.4GHz band.

That can solved connection normally by troubleshoot problems and it work fine but unfortunately the connection work a few minutes, it's still limited access.

For limited access states in device manage the AC 7260 have exist and the bluetooth still work normally.

I'm just wondering what date will the Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Software Version 17.0.3.2 be made available on here....

I'm currently using the Intel -AC 7260 card and along with most people are being made to suffer with the various issues that seem

to blight this card since it's release last year.

I'm still having problems with download speeds... 32mbps in the 2.4 ghz band.... 42mbps in the 5 ghz band.... { 54mbps Ethernet connection )

Tried 17.0.2.5 drivers but no joy there so went back to 17.0.0.34 as I found them more stable.

I've also re-tested the Intel Centrino -N 2230 card and get download speeds of 52mbps in the 2.4 ghz band.

6300AGN won't connect to HP 3600dn printer

Hoping someone can help. I have a Dell M6700 with an Intel Ultimate 6300 AGN wireless card. Am trying to set up an HP Color Laserjet 3600dn printer and the Intel wireless card will not talk to the HP. It won't ping it, nor see the web interface on the HP at all. But when on wifi you can ping the rest of the network, internet, etc.  When I switch over to the wired interface on the laptop I can ping the HP and connect to it and the rest of the network fine.

I'm really scratching my head here as the culprit seems to be the intel wireless card, but why it won't talk to the HP is a mystery.

Can anyone assist?

I would like to verify my drivers are good.  Netwfw00.dat has no provider / version / copyright info - Is this likely corrupted or is that just the way that file is (see lower screenshot)?

I googled Netwfw00.dat and couldn't find much about the version.
